measi's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Renewal and rededication My ritual last night went very well. It took me a while to draw up the circle, but that doesn't surprise me in the least. It's been a while-- I'm a bit rusty in my beginning visualization. And it didn't help that Gus decided he was going to dart under the altar cloth and start playing Hungry Hungry Kitten Paw with my leg as I tried to pull the circle up. I had to stop, GET HIM from under the cloth so he didn't pull the fabric and spill over burning candles, and then recompose. Twice. So we got off to a bit of a rocky start. But hey, Bast probably was snickering and proud of Gus for his attempts to deter me anyway. And it was cute, even if it was a bit annoying. Interestingly, as soon as I had the circle up, he sat RIGHT DOWN. He just watched me in a cat loaf on the edge of the circle and left it alone- until after I'd dispersed the energy, of course. Colley was almost directly across from him, loafing on the couch, just observing. Unlike Gus, Colley didn't "investigate" the altar. But all in all, it went very well. The familiar coziness of sitting in front of the altar by myself in prayer with only candles to illuminate the room was refreshing. The ritual I'd revised for yesterday evening went perfectly, and I felt like I'd written just what I needed for the evening, along with the impromptu prayers that I've always included during any ritual. (Off the cuff prayers are always a good thing, IMHO). Now I just need to take a hard look at my Sabbat rituals and revise them so they reflect me a bit better... 2:24 p.m. - 05 August 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
