measi's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Renning... My feet hurt like hell, but in a good way. Erich> and I went to King Richard's Faire today. We arrived in time for the preview show before the gates open at 10:30 a.m., and stayed until around 5. During the day we met up with Tone and his family, as well as two of Erich's college friends who are getting married next month. The weather today was beautiful-- you honestly couldn't ask for better Faire weather. Low 70's, sunny, dry... and no chance of rain. The beautiful weather is most likely why KRF was busier than I've ever seen it-- it was packed! Erich and I didn't dress up in garb this time around. We normally do, but our clothes need to be dry-cleaned before we can wear them again. With the temperature being in the low 70's, it was just a tad on the warm side for the garb anyway, so it worked out well to be in T-shirts and jeans. I have to admit that it was nice being able to sit down easily and take full breaths all day. My garb corset tends to be restricting (like it's supposed to be!) Hopefully we'll be able to head over to the Faire again this time next month for the last weekend. It'll be cooler by then, and we'll have cleaned garb to wear. But we had a great time. Erich showed off his mastery of throwing axes at the "midway" (Renaissance style) by tagging the target with three out of the four axes he tossed each time. We watched the tiger show as we do every year. They had a baby liger who was 18 months old and "only" weighed 600 pounds. We thoroughly enjoyed a couple glasses of mead over the course of the day and just wandered around. I could go so incredibly broke at King Richard's Faire. It's a good thing that I'm too big for most of the clothes, or I'd really be screwed.
