measi's Diaryland Diary

Ah yes, embracing my geek side

Erich brings out an insane side of me that's both fun and annoying at the same time. Might I add that this side of me allows my coworkers to have some great fun at my expense. This morning, I arrived at work to see bets placed on the actual time I'd walk into the office.

10:20, for the record.

Why was I so late? Because we joined a pretty sizeable crowd over at Randolph Cinemas for the 12:01 a.m. showing of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers last night.

Good movie. It seemed a bit long, but then again, last year I felt that FOTR was long on my first viewing (it felt considerably shorter on later viewings). And I was also quite tired. So when I see it again tonight (our original ticket time), I'll see how a second go-around feels.

Lots of action in this one. And seeing FOTR is absolutely necessary before going into this one, because character reintroduction and development is at a minimum in this one (with the exception of Gollum, Frodo, and Sam). This movie is, like most middle parts of trilogy, the one that sets up all of the conflict to be resolved in the third set. It's plot heavy.

And the scenery is astounding. Can I move to New Zealand?
