measi's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's 1 a.m.-- do you know where Santa is?` I discovered something today about myself that makes me damn proud-- I can cook. I can honest-to-god cook. Heh. There's a bit of my mommy in me after all. *big beaming grin* Now, as I'm typing this, I've had a shot of vodka and am enjoying a rather stiff Captain and Coke to unwind after festivities... so pardon any finger slurring... but I do just have to gloat. I made a literal feast of a meal, and did it all myself-- and only cut myself once. :) (damn potato peeler) Tonight's menu included the following: beef pot roast (in a tomato & water base for the braising) cream cheese and sour cream mashed baked potatoes my grandma's sauerkraut and kielbasa recipe cucumber salad (with onion, sour cream and dill) (recipes will be posted later, once I'm sober) Erich contributed appetizers and desserts-- a yummy cheese and cracker platter, some smoked salmon, and his chocolate pudding pies for dessert. We have leftovers, but not as much as originally thought. Over the course of the evening, we gained three extra male bodies to eat food. And everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Heh... I feel so proud. :) Now I'm going to continue to drink, unwind, and play Tropico so I can be a pirate.
