I successfully beat off The Beast, Jr. yesterday-- the closet is tamed. My side of the bedroom is tamed. There are now two big garbage bags of clothes and shoes for donation, and things that couldn't be donated have been tossed. It took me about four hours yesterday. Bleh. But I'm glad I did it now, rather than in late July when it'll be hotter than hell in the apartment. Hopefully I can keep The Beast tamed back until autumn, when I'll do another round of clothes weeding. The organization was necessitated by the fact that our bedroom has to be partially broken down first thing Tuesday morning. Our landlords are doing some full-building renovations during the summer months. Last year they painted doors and redid the hallways. This year they're replacing all of the apartment windows and the sliding glass patio doors and screens. Considering our screen door has sucked ass for months (never sliding on the frame), and we've had a line of clear packing tape down the edge of the patio door frame since there's a bad draft gap, we're thrilled. The cats will be boarded for the day at the vet-- they were understanding and accommodating when I dropped by yesterday to make the reservation. We could put them in the bathroom for the day, but it's an extremely tight space for three cats, and if they're going to be cramped, I'd rather they be under some supervision. I have a couple more chores to do today, but it's minor compared to yesterday's work... I'm feeling pretty accomplished. :) This is what happens, of course, when I have no money to spend elsewhere.
