measi's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gus hates us Poor Gus is currently sprawled out on his side, having given up the will to live. His head is cradled in a satellite dish that barely covers the shaved sections of his neck. And he hates us. He utterly, utterly hates us. Yes folks-- today was Gus' right of passage. He has been snipped. And yes, we did get the gender correct this time, two years exactly to the day... which is just... weird. Unfortunately, Gus was insisting on checking out his genital area for a good portion of the evening, resulting in some seeping from the wounds... and some blood spots on the carpet in our bedroom. *sigh* (thank Goddess for Nature's Miracle-- it is the best pet fluid retaliation stuff ever). He wouldn't leave it alone, so Erich went back out to the 24 hour emergency vet in the area and got him the damned Elizabethan collar that makes him look like some sort of alien. He went a bit nutty, swinging his head around violently to get the thing off-- and managed to a couple times. The collar we got might be a bit too big... but we'll get an actual cat collar for him tomorrow, which should keep it on much better than the gauze it comes with. If it were something that he'd spend a longer amount of time having to use, I'd probably spend the money to get one of the soft alternative collars. *sigh* My poor baby... 11:25 p.m. - 20 January 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
