measi's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gus Little one has been named... Augustus. Or, as he'll be known in everyday terms... Gus. A few of Erich's friends have suggested Trogdor the Burninator... and I imagine he'll be nicknamed Trogdor during gaming sessions from time to time. :) But he's just Gus. In the few days we've had him, Gus has been doing well. His ears have finished unfolding, and his eyes are changing from the dark, mottled kitten blue to what looks to be either an eventual green (or perhaps gold). He's gained a bit of weight. He's gone from being completely stumbly with his walking to running quite smooth. Banking and turning are still confusing concepts... and vertical movement isn't yet obtainable (probably a good thing), but he's active and kitteny and adorable. He's also a big cuddler already. His favorite place is right around a human's face. Today he took a nap lying across my neck under my chin as I watched TV. He hasn't quite developed the ability for body warmth on his own, so I think that's why he's seeking out warm spots like armpits and the shoulder-neck region. He's fascinated with Erich's mouth for some reason. Last night Erich yawned, and Gus tried to stick his head in Erich's mouth to see what was going on in there. Tonight as Erich cuddled with him, he kept whapping Erich on the lips. Yep. He's a kitten. :) Colley and Fizzy are doing pretty well with it all. Both are at the cautious but curious phase. If they get too close (translation: nose to nose), there's some hissing. But otherwise Fizz and Colley generally sit a few feet away and just observe Gus as he romps around. Occasionally Gus tries to pounce on his older sibs with that kitten sidewinding to make himself look bigger. I bought one of those disposal digital cameras and have taken some photos... hopefully I'll finish off the roll soon so I can get them completed. :) In the meantime, I'm going to crash... between two days of gaming until nearly 3 a.m., I'm dead tired. 11:11 p.m. - 01 September 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
